Default help! new owner here.

2002 new formula red 19k miles perfect cond second owner. i have had some fun cars in my time but this one takes the cake!! i am looking at new wheels. would really like the rota d2 17x7.5 .48 front and the 17x8.5 .50 in the rear. i want to be able to put these wheels on the car without any suspension or body modifications. i have worked with the "wheel offset calculator" but get more confused. i dont know when it says things like 8mm less inner clearance or 28mm more outer position. what is too litte inner clearance? what is too much outer position? then comes which tires and what size. i have always put on upgraded wheels and tires on all my cars whether they were performance cars or regualr passenger cars. i have never had a car so difficult to find and figure out which wheels will fit or where to get them. imagine my suprise when i went to a large local wheel and tire store and asked to see a selection of wheels for my s2000 and the guy looks at me like i am not quite bright and says "we dont have wheels for that car. those are going to be custom special order". everywhere i check its much the same story. the big on-line ones like tire rack etc dont have much selection in the reasonable price range or the right mm off-set. any help would be greatly appreciated

Don't know what this "calculator" is that you use, but this thread will tell you most of what you need to know:

From what I have read, the d2's wont fit due to brake caliper clearance issues...

thanks for the input and info guys. does anybody have any suggestions on wheels and tires that will work and where to get them at something that resembles a reasonable price? i would hate for this terrific car to remain stock in appearance.
