Default Powdercoat on stock AP-2 wheels?

I have some aftermarket wheels that are really nice and I had them powder coated. I actually had a truck sideswipe me and his wheel hit my rear wheel and did no damage to the powder coat! Was thinking of going back to the stock wheels. Has anyone powder coated these and can tell me how it looks and performs? Just want to tougher coating than stock and with no tires on it it’s a good time to do it I think. Thanks for your help!

Brian

That sounds amazing! Don’t they have clear powder coat or maybe just slightly tinted? Would love to have the stock look but a much tougher coding than the OEM coating.

They have every possible color you could want.

I would recommend taking a wheel to a shop and discussing what you are wanting done. They generally have to strip it down to bare metal and then coat it.

Yes, that’s exactly what science of speed did for me on the race wheels I bought. I like them a lot but they rub a bit and I lost the steering response I had with the stock wheels. Maybe it’s my tires but I can’t keep changing to find out.

Prismatic Powders is great! They’ll send you a little pieces of metal with the color you want on them so you can see exactly what it will look like. Yes, they have many many colors and it was hard to choose.
