you are right; i have not run through all the possible combinations. i was being lazy. i thought of sticking to 245/40 on 17 because Honda would have done all the hard work of identifying the right compromise.
Honda put 255/40-17s in back on the highest-performing S2000 (CR).

agreed! Honda chose 10mm wider width over a marginal increase in profile. isn't that a specific model as well? RE070?

thanks.

i did think about 18s. for weight reasons, i was discouraged. but, after reading your post, i re-evaluated my option. see my separate thread on 560R.

by the way, 540R is discontinued. i considered it.

thanks for suggesting.
I'm not sure the 540 R is discontinued, check with Vivid Racing regarding availability. Also they are a sponsor on S2KI.

i talked to HRE directly and found out the 540 series is discontinued.

i have decided to go with 560R instead. i should thank you for making me rethink the 18s option! :-) my C70 order was being processed! anyway, 560R looks lot better than C70. i never liked the exposed fasteners to begin with.

thanks again.

With those OEM offsets you could probably run 225/45 front and 255/40 rear.

thanks.
