Hydroplaning BADLY on S03's

There's just so much of a difference in the hydroplane resistance between the new front S03s and 50% worn rear S02s that extreme oversteer ensued.

It is the narrower rain grooves. The faster you go in standing water, the more volume a tire has to pump out to maintain traction to the ground. Go too fast, tire can't pump anymore water and the tire is floating, i.e. hydroplaning. Also a wider tire has to move more water than a thin tire, so in this case wider isn't better. The S2000 is great in the dry and the wet, it's the tires!
If there is no standing water it's just a function of the wet grip of the rubber, not the lack of tread.

Recently (two weeks) I had the front tires on my 2000 S2K replaced with S03s, I've always used the S02s before. I've read the S03s have better wet traction than the S02s, but on I75 yesterday the first bit of rain I encountered caused the front to hydroplane badly. In fact, I did a quick unexpected 360 into the grass median and came within four feet of the front bumper of an oncoming semi. At the next rest stop I checked my tires and shorts...
The remainder of the trip I had to slow down to under 60 mph to keep the front end from dancing around like it was on ice, while everyone from Kias to Kenworths were blowing by me at 80 mph plus.
Rear is still S02s, stock size, and alignment was checked but unchanged.
Needless to say, I'm quite unhappy with this setup. This has never happened with the S02s.
Anyone else had this experience?

i am having a similar problem now in the rain with my M3. i replaced the stock rear pilot sports which were 255's with new S03's 275's. my fronts are still ok so i didn't need to replace them. but now with such a wide tire on the rear the car understeer's like a ing bitch in the wet. in a straight line i am fine the car is stuck to the ground with two of the best rain tires made. but coming to a turn in heavy water the car wants to go straight. so i just have to slow down more. i want to wear out my fronts so i can just have S03's all around. when i had S03's on my S in 225 and 255 i could do 100mph with no problem in heavy rain. not that i advise that
