Thumbs up I need tire suggestions...

Wazzup!

I need some help. I've had my '03 S2K for about a week. I noticed that the S2Ks normally come with 205/55/16 tires for the front, and 225/50/16 for the rear. However, when I got my ride, it came with black "S" rims and had 205/60/16 Michelin MX4 tires on the front, and 255/55/16 BFGoodwrench DRAG RADIALS on the back which are worn. Doesn't take long I guess - 'cause those drags barely have any tread new.

Coming to the conclusion that my car luckily has not been dogged in it's first 36,000 miles, even w/the drag radials, I need to get new back tires.

What would you guys recommend for the REAR, and In General, what are your thoughts about drag radials on the rear - or those sizes in which my S2K came with.

Thanks all,

Ry

I can tell you one thing and that is to get four new tires. It is a bad idea to mix match tires. Check www.Tirerack.com you can pick up a good set of Khumos or Goodyear Eagle F1s just to name a few. Anyway I hope I helped. Good luck with your search for tires. John

Thanks John! Should I stick to the stock S2K tires sizes? ...or should I shoot for something different?

Thanks,
Ry

sorry but what is "SO2s"? ...and how do I know my rim size...I do not have stock rims, at least I don't think so. They are black with an "S" in the middle on the cap. It looks the same design as factory except for those two things. It is 16" as well. How do I know what I have? Also, I didn't think my car is lowered, but there is no fender gap with non=lowprofile tires. Regular wall tires feel the gap. I looked underneath and I have red colored springs. I do not think this is stock either? sure rides smooth though. I've only had this car a week.

Thanks for any help,
Ry

AP2 is correct with the tire sizes he posted up...You probably have stock AP1 Wheels that where painted black. That is a very popular mod on this forum...Anyway S02 is the name of the tire that comes on the car when you buy it. It is made my Bridgestone and its a great tire but they are a lot of money to replace. Most people go for Khumos because they are fairly cheap, perform good and they last for a reasonable amount of time. One tire I can tell you not to look into is the Yokohama Es100 I have a set personally and I would ditch them in a minute for a nice set of Khumos or Toyos or Goodyears. Yokohama Advans is a completely different story though. If your daily driving stick to stock sizes like AP2 posted up. If your doing Auto-X look into the competition section of the forum and ask some members what the recommend for your setup. I do not know lot about tires so I am sorry I can not be of more help to you. Good Luck. I hope I can point you in the right direction. John

What would be the advantage in going with 245/45 in the REAR instead of the stock 225/50 recommendation? And also, Honda told me that me having tires not matching the Honda spec would make my speed be inaccurate on my speedometer. Is the 245/45 you guys like gonna mess with my speed? or is that true at all?

Thanks

No the bridgestone tire is closer to a 245 rather than a 250 for reasons I do not know. But your speed will be the same. If you went with a 275 or something along those lines then I would worry about the speed being inaccurate.
