Default Jim? Dunlop Sp5000

Hi Jim,

or anyone who knows the answer to this. I notice that Jim recommends the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 as the all season tire of choice for the S2000. But which one? I notice on the tirerack website it has 3 kinds of ultra high performance all season 5000. the "M", "Symmetrical", and the "Asymmetrical". Which one would be the recommended one? Thanks in advance. oh, one more thing, what do you guys think about the Continental Contiextreme Contacts? they seem to have a higher rating but lower price according to the tirerack comparison chart.

thanks again,
Allan

The tire is only available for your car in the asymetrical version. The reason this tire works the best is it comes in the 245/45R16 and 205/55R16 for the car. None of the other all season performance tires do. I have driven the Conti and they are not as good a handling tire as the Dunlop.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you

my car came with SP5000 205's on the front and 225's on the rear from carmax. They are directional, and have inner and outer markings.

The car does seem to feel loose and twitchy in the rear, so I don't try to push hard. I'll just be content with this setup until I'm ready to upgrade.
