Default Jim, the TireRack Web System is recommending the wrong size Non-OE SO2

Hi Jim:

I am dealing with the same issues with Honda Warehouse. See my other post here: http://forums.s2ki.com/forums/showthread.p...threadid=216115

When I go to tirerack and entered MY02, Honda, S2000, then select "View Matching Front/Rear Tires", the TireRack system is recommending 225/50 for the rear regardless of the tire brand and model.

I thought the common conclusion here on this forum, is the the 225/50 is only good for OE S02. For any other model or brand, the right size should be 245/45?

Sorry I am not picking on you. I love your system and think the the wheel selector is much more accurate than your competitors. Just though I pass this on though...

Paul

The system can only go off what is OE. That is why I tell people to call me. They way they have it set is for OE tire sizes so it can't change. I have tried.

All it takes is one attempted lawsuit to change stuff like this. Some idiot will eventually spin his car into something, blame TireRack for the incorrect tire that doesn't maintain OE width ratios (and/or they'll sue Bridgestone for selling a 245 that's badged a 225 or Honda for allowing / requesting that it be marked a 225).

Its fun to see new 'used' S2000s on the road. You can play 'spot the wrong sized tire.'

The dealers slap those Z rated 225/50s on the rear end all the time. Morons.

I am sure that the majority of S2000's with aftermarket tires have 225/50's on the back. Its not as big of a deal as most of you seem to think. I am running 225/50 Kuhmo Ecsta MX's on the back and they are great (they don't offer 245/45).

The stagger ratio reduced by 10% if you have 225/50 in the back. These numbers are based on S03 setup.

Same here. Mine had 225/50 S03's!
