Sure its fine, but its not ideal. I'm sure you wished your front wheel was 8" for those meats instead right? If I were placing an order for brand new wheels tonight, id want them to be great with my chosen tires, not just "fine" Hella-yo!

With an 8 inch width, a vertical side wall would actually be 235 tire.

With a 7 inch width, a vertical side wall would be 215 tire.

So 225 is fine as its just one size up which is what plenty of people do with the stock wheels.

Ok so I ordered the rears at 17x9 +45 the fronts I'm debating on 17x7 +42 or 17x8.5 +35. I've come to the conclusion that I have to roll the fenders, what would you run? Ideally I wanted a 17x8 +45 but it's one extreme or the other.

This, and you could stagger your tires leaving the wheel size itself unstaggered. So in other words:

F: 17x9 +45 with 225/45/17
R: 17x9 +45 with 255/40/17

Depends on the tire, many extreme performance tires we use run wide. If you want to know what the fitment is going to be sometimes you just have to put them on, but looking up the manufacture spec sheet on dimensions gives you a good idea.

I agree with this, given the OP rather crumby alternative wheel size options.

I'm not a fan of stretched tires at all. Turns out the wheels are on backorder for 4-6 weeks I'll see if I can decide on another set if not I'll wait for these.
