Default Lets get the facts straight on Rota Wheels

Everyone flames Rotas for being poor wheels, but no one has any empirical data. They are cheap and light and I have seen alot of Auto-X cars run them with success.

That said, Ive never had a set so I dont really know about them. I have bent a set of Weld Forged Racing wheels, so I know that even the best wheels can be bent. This poll will just give some real world data to the speculation on this board.

BTW... having a friend of a friend that bent a set of Rotas does not count.

edit: for some reason, the poll doesnt have the options seperated? Hopfully a moderator can fix this?

People hate on rota's because they spend large bills on authentic rims, and then rota releases a knockoff a few months later. It has nothing to do with quality, lets be realistic. They aren't any stronger or weaker then any other run of the mill cast wheel.

I have had and sold many sets of Rota's (not on my S) and the quality has been great. Their price is tough to beat and neither myself or my customers have ever bent one! Yes many people do frown upon people running Rotas do to low price and knock off style, but what do you expect when one person post pictures of their $4,000 wheels and right above that another member posts up his $600 replica set.

I think they are a good deal, I dont autocross, race or even really go to shows much so I dont need a fancy wheel. For the price its hard to beat. I do agree that maybe it may not have the quality of a volk or something twice as much but no matter what wheel you have you should be careful either way. For the average enthusiast they are perfect.

I had Volks LE28's on my s2000 and I have Rotas Boosts on my STi. I loved both sets.

Everyone has different priorities with life, family, cars, budgets, whatever.......

Instead of buying a set of Volks for my STi, I bought a set of Rotas, a 3" downpipe, a Cobb Accessport ECU flasher, and 2 tickets to the F1 GP in Montreal
