Default A little Help

For those of you that knows tires. I'm going buy some new wheels and tire for my 02, I'll be upgrading to 17 instead of 16s. From what i can put together from reading the threads, if i want to stick with 04+ setup i need to get 205/50/17 in front in order to match the orginal tread width of the RE50, is this correct? The rear should be fine 245/40/17. Can some one please confirm this?

Also if i wanted to go wider on 17in what front and rear combo should i go? front 215/45/17 with rear 255/35/17? Sorry i'm not too savy with tires. I would like to keep the original stagger if possible and with out changing the overall diameter of the wheel. Thanks you for your help. Any suggestion are welcome. -M

Me, I wouldn't worry too much about the stock sizes (215/50-17 F, 245/45-17 R). It won't be the end of the world if the fronts are a little wider than OEM.

I'd probably get either
215/45-17 F, 245/40-17 R
OR
225/45-17 F, 255/40-17 R.

1. You won't find a 255/35/17 tire

2. All of this really depends on the size and offset of your wheels.

I agree with the sizes but certain tires are wider than others and sometimes the best size could be 215/45R17 in the front and 255/40R17 in the rear. Not all tires are created equal so you have to check the contact patch.
If I can help let me know.
