I'm in the same boat as you. I'm also looking for aftermarket, 16", lighter than stock, affordable wheels. Very slim pickins.

I'm considering the Rota Slipstreams. They are very similar to the SW388s, and the 16x7 versions weigh 13.5 lbs. The issues are; you can't get them staggered - 16x7 only (although 205/55 and 225/50 do fit on 7" wheels) and the offsets aren't perfect; 45.

There are other members here that have these wheels and say they have no problems, but I have not seen the cars in person.

I'm really surprized that there aren't at least a couple of affordable choices out there for the S. It seems like there is a decent market for them - since I've been looking, I've noticed a couple postings each week looking for the same thing.

I run the Slips on my S, with the 205/55 and the 225/50 but I was wondering if I could run 215/55 on the front and 245/50 on the rear. Do you think it would be an issue?

*This all pertains to 16" wheels*

I don't know if there would be an issue with tire rubbing. If you were going to increase the size of you tires, you would move up to a 225/50/16 front (215s are too tall) and 245/45/16 on the rear (50 series would be too tall) to maintain the correct tire height.

There is a problem with mounting the 245 rear tire. It is too wide for a 7" rim. For a 245, Tire Rack recommends a 7.5-9 wheel.

You can check the specs for the tires by going to the Tire Rack website. Select a tire and then click on the "specs" tab. That will show you all the measurements you need.

So you are currently running the 16x7 +45 Slipstreams? How's the set up? Any rubbing? Any pics?

actually what is worse is that rota makes the slip in a 16x8 size but for whatever dumbass reason anyone i find only has it in 5x100.

why the hell if you can make the wheel why not another bolt pattern?

get the 6-spoke stock wheels that bbs specially made for some early s2000's. they are hard to find but they are what you guys are looking for. otherwise save some cash and just get the spoons. nothing for the s2000 comes cheap, no thrifty s2000 drivers!
