Looking at purchasing these rims - advice
Greetings,
Getting ready to hunker down for the snow storm here in Iowa over the next few days so I figured what better to do than spend some money on the S!
I wanted to run this by some folks that may be more well-versed in rim fitting than I am. I have reviewed the wheel fittment guide and I think the rims I am looking at will work but before I press the "buy now" button I want to make sure I'm not missing something.
I have an 05' S2000 with stock rims and tires. I found some Enkei Rims on Ebay that I really like and the price doesn't look too shabby either:
The following is listed as the specs:
1. Fronts: 17 X 7 - Offset is +45
2. Rears: 17 X 8 - Offset is +48
The only possible issue I see is that the fittment guide advises no less than a +48 offset for the fronts. Would I be pushing my luck if I got these? I really just want to make things easy without any fender bending; ideally, to find a nice set of rims that can be bolted on directly with minimal efforts beyond that.
I have also listed the link to the listing below:

Thanks in advance for any help and advice you could offer me; it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Gotcha. Thanks for your response. So I would have to keep the 245's on the rear then. However, these would fit "ok" then but not perfect, if I'm understanding you correctly?

Which enkei model are you looking at?
I'm looking at the SC03's. I found them on Ebay at the site listed below:
I've done some comparative shopping online and the price asked for them is pretty reasonable imo based on other prices I've seen.

I did also contact the shop that is selling these and they said they've done these rims on the S2K before with no issues. Now, to make the final decision of whether or not to go with them. I don't think I'd ever look at stepping up to wider tires in the rear; however, you guys make some good points that I would be preventing myself from doing so if I went with these.

You wouldn't be "preventing" yourself per se. You could still mount a 225/255 setup, but they'd be pinched on, and the sidewalls would bulge. Personally, I wouldn't but that's just me.
I don't think those wheels even come wider than 8" so, you'd be stuck with this fitment pretty much.
As far as the size goes, they would "work" but wouldn't necessarily be optimal. I would probably agree with the above remarks, and suggest finding something that's sized a bit better for the s2k.
