stock sizes for the AP2 wheels are 245/40/17 rears and 215/45/17 fronts, but you can go with 255/40/17-225/45/17 setup if you want...
how small can you go in there rear ? can you go 225/45/17 on stock 8.5 wheels ?

225 will fit fine on an 8.5" wheel. Most of us would prefer more meat, but there is nothing inherently wrong with that width tire on that size wheel. It would be a small stretch on a 9" wide wheel, but 8.5" is just fine.

i have 18x8.5 inch Enkei's on mine on all 4 corners and right now have 215 40's on all corners. Had 225s before and will be going back to a 225. Both fit fine though, not stretched at all

Thanks guys. saw some pictures in other forums and 225s on 8.5 look just a bit stretched. now i wonder if get 215s for front and 225s for the rear.....might look weird if i get 225s all around on 7 and 8.5 wheels.

ps. this is all to save money on winter set and have more tire choices. stock winter size are only LM-60s for like $650-700 bucks.

most people just get AP1 wheels for winter use. Cheaper and the rubber is cheaper and you can fit thinner tires on them too - better for snow.

driving in winter and driving in snow is different. the only times i drove in snow in past 2 years was on purpose to have fun. i do drive in winter. there isn't much snow in Boston area, it all gets cleaned asap.....which sucks because i love snow and driving. this year actually had to get out at night to have fun...
