Default Are low offset wheels bad?

I understand the whole offset thing, the only thing I was wondering is does changing the offsets (for example to mid 40s) put more strain on the vehicle? Is this something to worry about?

For example, I could probably fit a 8" wheel in the rear with +35 offset, a 245 tire, and some negative offset (since I have my rear bumper tab relocated and a slight roll), but is changing the offset by +30 a good idea?

It technically puts more strain on the wheel bearings, but I'd sacrifice that for the looks. Negative camber adds to it.

How about shit kicking up from the wheels sticking out a little more and chipping up the paint?I'm guessing this is also a tradeoff of it..Or I could be wrong..
