Just picked up some H&R lowering springs and 18 inch wheels.

Don't know if I'm putting too much thought into this but I was thinking of installing the lowering springs and running them with the oem wheels for a week or so to have them settle in.

Once they have settled, install my 18's and get an alignment done the same day.

This leads me to think that I'll get a more precise alignment since the suspension has settled. Also allowing the new 18 inch tires to "break in" nicely.

Am I being too critical here?

The tires and wheels will not affect your alignment. I think you will get a feel for what each item does to the car if you do it one step at a time.

Jim, I was referring to the lowering springs. Once installed, I was under the assumption that the car would need an alignment.

I didn't want to get an alignment with the oem wheels on because I will be going BBS 18's soon. I figured get the alignment done with the wheels that I will be using.
