I wouldnt consider it really a street tire... more like a *streetable* competition tire.
For all the opinions that I've heard about this tire so far (which hasnt been that many), I have yet to be convinced that it's any better than a Kumho. Yeah, I guess a couple Porsche club guys claim is "sticks like a Hoosier but lasts twice as long!"... but quite frankly, I consider the opinion of your average Porsche club racer to be, at best, suspect.
These tires might actually be great, but all I've heard so far I what I'd consider "hype." And you know what Flavor Flav says about that...

The reports on this tire are very good and I've had better experience with Michelins than any other brand. It's pretty much a track tire and when I get mine I plan to only use them on the track and back and forth. I'll be driving 100+ miles to the track so I need something with a few more heat cycles in it than the Kuhmos or Hossiers.
If you're considering the Sport Cup for the street, you certainly don't want S03's. The S03's have a harder compound, are longer lasting and have better wet weather performance than the S02's. Because of this they are lower performance tires than the S02 and far lesser performance than the Sport Cup. But if you use your S2000 as a daily driver and need better wet weather performance, the S03 is not a bad choice.
With stock wheels I'd stick with the OEM S02's on the street. S02's are damn good on the track too. The Sport Cup is probably going to heat cycle pretty fast when used on the street and you'll only get a few months of regular driving out of them. But this is just a guess based on experiences with other DOT race tires run on the street. The Sport Cup's are not cheap either at $900+ a set.
