Default Michelin Pilot Sport Cups

Would I be nuts to consider Pilot Sport Cups in 205/55R16 and 245/45R16 for both street and track use in a stock 03? I'm thinking about them as direct replacements for the S02s. I don't drive in the rain and would use them gently on the street. How quickly would they wear with street use? Would street use harm their track performance? thanks

I'm running a set (225/245) and the ride is very rough. The car jerks from side to side. I'll run them until they cord.

If it is low miles you can keep them on and run them. They are going to be stiffer and they will give more feedback. That is just part of the R Compound racing tires characteristics. It is the only R compound I would run on the street though.
If I can help let me know.

If you drive the Cup tires on the street, you run the risk of heat cycling them and significantly degrading performance. R compound tires should be saved for the track. I run RA-1's on the track, mounted on my OEM '01 wheels, and Michelin PS2's on my 17" CE28n's on the street.
