Default Michlin PS2 tires

Changed oil and filter today and found rear tires have 3 MM tread left. Went to Discount tire and they have nothing in stock and it appears that there are none scheduled for production. Anyone have info on what Michlin plans for the PS 2 tires. I have 255/40/17 on the rear with 25K on them.

They have been replaced by the improved successor, Pilot Super Sport. You can get these from Discount Tire. I picked up a set about a month ago.

Nope. 245 PSS are likely to provide just as much (if not more) grip as 255 PS2s though. Like I said, they are a better, stickier, higher performance tire all around than the PS2.

Update: Discount tires found some PS2 stock in a warehouse and is bringing them in for me. To change current set-up I would need to change front tires too. I still have lots of tread so maybe next set will be 245 PSS.

My guess is they found the Porsche OE 255/40R17 tire. They are not the exact same tire as the non Porsche tire.

They are in fact the N3 tires - and that is what is being replaced. Is there a problem useing the N3 tire?
