Mixing tires a bad idea?
Looking for some more input and info on what makes mixing tires bad, or how bad exactly does it impact driving (daily more than anything). Thanks in advance.
It's probably not a good idea if you want to push your car. Should be fine for daily driving I imagine. If you had stickier fronts than rears, then the back end would be more prone to go out. And if you had stickier rears then fronts, then you would get a lot of push. On top of that, tires have different characteristics besides grip and no grip. You might have a set of tires that handle heat better than another, or loose grip at a faster rate than an other. Again, probably unnoticeable unless you drive your car like it was meant to be driven.
^^^good stuff. just talked to my buddy w/his ap2 and he told me he's running a mixed set as well w/super sticky rears and about how he's almost completely unable to break out a slide now, but then again maybe having an ap2 helps as well
