My uncalibrated eyeball says that the blur on the 100% crosses two, maybe more pixels. I agree with Scott that the real resolving power of this scan is more like 8 MP, not 33 MP. Even Fuji's own data sheet for Velvia 50 shows the MTF response falling to 50% at about 45 lp/mm, which corresponds to a real resolution of about 7 MP (or on a camera with a Bayer sensor and an anti-alias filter, about 12 MP, although such a camera will show higher contrast in fine detail approaching the limits of resolution). Although I would not assert that a 35mm Velvia scan of more than 39 MP would necessarily show no additional detail, I would assert that a 35mm Velvia scan of more than about 12 to 15 MP will capture very little additional detail, especially in relation to the grain being more clearly resolved. Also, 39 MP on 35mm film is over 100 lp/mm. Unless your lenses and technique are excellent, and your subject essentially flat (for depth of field reasons), you will never capture that much detail.
