Default Need help deciding on wheels (fitment)

Hello,

I recently sold my old set of Advans (17x9+45) and narrowed it down to two wheels. TE37s (17x9.5+45) or Regamasters (17x9+45). The car is currently on HKS GT coilovers dropped about 1.5 inches. Fenders are slightly pulled and trimmed. The car is mostly street driven but occasionally hits the track/autoX

I ran my Advans on RE71s (245/40R17). I really like the TEs but my concern is getting them to fit properly without doing major work and avoid rubbing issues. How much more work will it take to run these without issues and is it worth it?? Or should I just go with the Regas and call it at a day.

Thanks

You can get the 9+45 to fit easier. I would use a 255 tire - if you feel you want to go narrow use an RE71. I had a 9.5+45 with a 255 RE71 pretty low and it never ever rubbed no matter how bad the road condition was or on track.

First things first, I really dislike TE37 and Regamasters, I'm saying this for my own conscience, buy the wheels you like they're both super high quality.

I ran 17x9.5 +43 on the rear of my car last year with 245/40 Bridgestone S007A without issue at probably 2-2.5" lower than stock. (Fenders rolled flat)

I can't speak to how they fit up front, I never tried that but I will be doing so at some point in the next year or two.

I've previously run 17x9 +45 w/ 255/40 Azenis RT615K+ and 17x7.5 +30 w/ 215/45 S007A up front without any issues.

Best of luck.

Of course you didn't rub, you have custom front fenders haha

The TE's are much more difficult to fit in the front. You may consider getting those offset bushings as I have seen people run with with similar spec wheels and it helps quick a bit. End of the day you have the fenders modded already and could make either work but the TE's will be more work if that makes sense.

I'm currently running 17x9.5 +47 with 255 square with NT-01, RA-1, etc.

Car is tracked regularly.

On OEM fenders with your standard roll, light-pull, etc. etc.

I also have the ST40 BBK, and I know for a fact that the rotor hat adds at least 2mm of thickness.

So, my assessment is that it should fit.

Any rubbing issues?

Yup me included. I've been looking for a set for several years that I won't have to jack my fenders for.
