There is plenty of people running 18" rims with no problems on here. If your in the bay area you just missed Issac(spunky) who comes down here from socal to do fender rolling days. Other than him id ask around the bay area forum for another place to get your fenders rolled.

I want to get like 14's or something alone the lines.
Smaller rims with lower profile tires means a lower gear ratio which means faster acceleration!

but 18s look the best

Don't forget to factor in cost of tires. And replacement tires. 18s are considerably more expensive.

I've run 18's and 19's on an S2000. Performance wise the 19's were horrible, I think they severely messed with the suspension's ability to compress properly. I've run 18's and had no problem with friendly offsets. I don't know what people consider to be considerably more expensive but the difference in cost between 225/255 17's and 225/255 18's was about 34% if comparing Sumitomo HTRZIII's. or roughly $39 per tire.

It also depends on the tire though. I looked at Star Specs...a 265/35/18 was over $100 more than a 265/40/17. There were a couple wheels that I really wanted in 18s...but after seeing this factor I think I am staying with 17s.

It's your tire size too. 255/35-18 is going to be much cheaper than 265 since it's a less common size.
