Cool Need help with rubbing (front)

On the fronts, I am running 225/45/17 tires on 17x8 (+43 offset) wheels, and it rubs when I go over a bump or hard corner. My suspension is lowered about 1.5" on D2 Coils.

What really is rubbing, I believe, is the plastic rivet(s) underneath the edge of the fender. Now that I have already bought the wheels and tires, I cannot return them no more. What is the best thing I can do to solve this problem?

Can't believe my first post is already such a difficult issue. Any information would help, thanks!

I had the same size tires on +45 offsets and I rubbed also. You are rubbing on the plastic tabs, fender liner, and inner fender lips. you need to roll your front fenders. I need to get mine rolled properly but what i did to fix it temporarily is I rolled the inner fender lips it using the handle of a rubber mallet. Just enough to clear the tires. I then removed those plastic tabs and pushed the liner over the inner fender lip that has been slightly rolled to keep it secured. its worked so far. Once i get it aligned, i'm going to have them slightly camber it so and probably won't need to roll it any further.

Yu may want to try the negative camber first. You can also go with the 215/45R17 to give yourself more room.

@Sinister2K05:
Thank you for the advice. I did about what you said - remove the plastic tabs, and fold the liner (plastic part) over the inner fender (metal part), and that solved 90% of the rubbing noise. Now it only rubs under very harsh cornering under maximum traction. Very proud of myself to have gotten my hands dirty.

@JimTirerack
I am considering that, and since the tires are new, I can still exchange them for 215/45s or 215/40s. I am wondering what is the impact to the car's performance? What do you think?

If you're still rubbing, it may just be rubbing on the liner. I still rub on harsh dips but its very minimal and i'm thinking its only rubbing on the liner. The rubbing sounds like its scraping plastic rather than metal. In any case, I'm sure a little camber will remove the rubbing all together in the fronts. Glad it's worked out better for you. Atleast its drivable lol. I use to cringed when I ever i heard it scrape lol

Sorry dont mean to Hi-Jack but would it be safe to run 7.5" rim that has 42 offset and 215 tire in the front with 1 to 1.5 drop?

From this thread seems like I can get away with dropping my car and not worrying about rolling front.
