Need help with Volk offsets

(new wheel width - stock wheel width)/2*25.4
Does this half of the formula convert the wheel width difference from US to metric? I've always wanted to know how to do that.
If so, I'm going to guess that the other half is just adding the wheel offset difference to the wheel width difference.

Not looking to pimp. I like to play in the mountains, so I'm hoping this combo will retain or improve the current handling characteristics of the car.
If you agree with this setup, wanna help me find a good dealer on the wheels? I was thinking of trying Bulletproof?
