Default Need your expertise

I have old school volks on my 03 and the sizing is 17" 8x9 (45 offset all around). I am currently run the Sumitomo HTR-Z III with 40 psi all around. What's the ideal psi to run for front and rear for daily driving. I would like to enjoy decent performance, but would like the tires to last as long as possible as well. Also, i am running stock suspension. -dave

i believe no matter what the size you go to, you follow the car manufacturers pressure reccomendations for that car. i use to think that as the tire contact patch increased, you needed to lower the pressure to resude the crowning effect, but this causes the tire to wear on the edges something awful as well as feel like spongy shit when attacking a corner. stock psi 32 all four corners.

32 for basic street driving... track driving you can change the pressures to change the handling of the car (i.e. oversteer and understeer)

yup, 32psi for dd.

when lapping, you definitely want a good tire pressure gauge to adjust as you run thru the day. i start at 32psi, do like 4-5 laps, it's then up to 40psi or so given the temp that day. then drop it down to 32 front and 30 rear (hot). car sticks nice after that!
