Default New rear tires needed

I'm looking for new rear tires on stock ap1 rims. I live in the pacific northwest and I want something I can drive on all year long. I want one set of tires to go on my one set of stock rims. It rains a lot where I live and can occasionally drop below freezing. There is virtually nothing available in our "correct" non-oem rear tire size. Is there any danger with getting a couple of 225/50/16 for the rear instead? Will this size fit on the stock rear rims?

Why is it so hard to find a couple of tires that I can slap on the rear of my car and drive on them every day, rain or shine (no snow) until they're worn. That's all I want.

Jim, the bridgestone RE960AS all season you suggested doesn't come in a 245/45/16. Can I and should I get them in a 225/50/16 instead? Will this size fit the stock rear rims?

There are no all season tiers in the 245/45R16 anymore. The 225/50R16 on the reara and 205/55R16 in the front are fine. While they are not going to give you the ultimate performance that a summer tire will give you the RE960 is a very good handling tire and it can work in the cold.
If I can help let me know.
