I run rear AP1 wheels on the front and CE28N's on the rear. Yes, i had to have the wheel opened to fit over the hub in front. I run RA-1's- 245/45/16 in the front and 255/40/17 in the rear.

I lowered the car in the rear a bit more and changed the angle of attack on my wing. I was actually understeering. Too much angle, too stiff on my Gendron bar, incorrect pressures, or all of the above led to the understeer. I was expecting to hang the rearend out a bit more. Previously I had been running 225/245 on AP1 stockers. Braking did seem to increase.

Turning lock-to-lock with the oem rears up front and having the Gendron bar leads to inner rub. Doing this at any speed would be bad. Also, the front tires have nothing to do with the speedo.

Here's a pic showing the difference between a stock S-02(205) and a RA-1(245) for the front:

how much was it to have teh front wheel opened to fit over the front?

do you think w/out the gendron bar i'll be able to turn the oem rears lock to lock without it rubbing?

I have checked at wheel techniques in Santa Clara and they will do it for $75 per wheel. I am trying to look for a cheaper place.

The rub was minimal. I cannot accurately say if it would or wouldn't rub without the blade-type of front bar.

I think I paid $45 to have both milled out. Originally, I was told $30/wheel, but my wife used to work with the office manager. When I took them to the machine shop, there were no tires on them and I had not painted them yet. There was no need for them to worry about chipping/scratching them.

It will. Volks fit both front and rear, no? You might need to add a hub-centric ring or take great care when tightening the lugs. Personally, I only use them for the track, so they only get used on the front.

If you are going to use rear OEM wheels all around, I would get all 4 wheels milled. That way you can rotate tires if wanted to preserve a little bit more tire life. As for using the hub-centric ring, I wouldn't worry about it. Many people in R&C forum do not use them. But just as Skip says above, be careful when tighten the lugs down.

Eric, let me know if you find a cheap place to do the milling.
