Default odball tire setup

I have a 03 silverstone. I want to go with rpf1s in sbc 17x9 all around. The 17x8 dosent look the same. I dont really want to roll my front fenders. Id be ok doing the rears. I was thinking about this tire setup 205/45r17 F 235/40r17 R. I know there smallish but I love saving weight on the tires and I think that would keep me from having to do the front fenders. Whtat do you think. O the tires wud be re11's and the rear is still wider than stock sizing for an ap1 . Thanks!!!!!!!!

205 is too small on a 9" wheel. 235 is the smallest I would recommend. If you don't want to roll your fenders, I would recommend getting a different set of wheels. What about Enkei PFO1? They look good and can be bought in 17x8 +50 and 17x9 +60. Those specs will allow you to run 225/45/17 and 255/40/17 without any fender modification.

Saving weight on tires

You want the widest stickiest tires and I really doubt that you save that much weight using a 205 instead of a 245. What you do drastically reduce is overall grip and performance.

Also on the subject of rolling the front fenders why do you not want to roll them? They are actually replaceable where the rear ones aren't (at least not easily). So it make no sense why you wouldn't want to roll them.

nah...post #2 pretty much nailed it. There are other wheel options, what's your budget?

Do not run this setup. You will need to roll the fenders with these wheels no matter what so you may as well just buy proper tires that have the grip the car needs.

I temporarily ran a 225 up front with this setup and I still needed a roll. 205 will not cut it, nor would I ever recommend anyone to run that tire up front.
