PIC REQUEST: 17" Front, 18" rear wheels
Hi,
I'm a perspective new owner. I have a 2000 GSR powered hatch and am looking to get into an S2000.
I also have a 1992 MR2 Turbo. This cars general proportions are similar - very low front end where the wheel arches come up almost to the top of the hood, and much more bulk of body over the rear of the car.
I currently run 17 front and 18" rear on my MR2 and it looks (IMO) much better than 18's all around. An 18" wheel looks too big in the front.. sort of matchbox car-like. I believe the same is true for the S2k (IMO).
Does anyone run a 17/18 setup? Can you show me pics? I'd probably run a slightly taller tire in the rear in order to match the sidewall heights.
You can hide a bigger wheel in the back and make it look much better. At least for MR2's the rear tire sidewall is taller than the front when you use all the same style wheel. With a staggered F/R setup, it looks more proportional to the car. Same with S2k?

Thanks... looking for someone who's done it with the S2k.
The reason you can't tell on the MR2 is the same reason you wouldn't be able to tell on the S2K... the front hood has such a low profile compared to the top of the wheel arch..
The hard part is finding wheels that offer a choice in height and width stagger... not too many out there, and those that do are $$$

most staggers like that you will find are NSX spec, the older spec being 16/17 (i believe there are are white Mugen MF10's floating around for sale, shown on a Berlina)
I think the newer NSX spec are 17/18, but not sure if there are pics of an s2k with the set up.
