Default Plus sizing for 16" stock wheels

Looking to install a set of snow tires on factory 16" wheels. Want to raise the car off the ground a little with a taller tire. What taller size 16" tires will fit ?

Going thru my vast collection of performance tires ( over 60 tires ) I found a pair of Michelin Pilot XGT H4 94H M+S 225/55R16 tires with 8/32 of tread left. These tires stand about an inch taller than the stock S02 rear tires.

Wondering if that size will fit on the rear

Also found a pair of Goodyear RS-A 89H M+S 205/55/16 tires with 9/32 of tread left. Tread pattern is almost the same as the Michelin Pilots. These tires should fit on the front of my S.

Hate to buy new tires for winter when I have so many like new tires taking up space in the back garage. Do you all think this combination of tires will work safely thru a Michigan winter

Edit> Goodyear 205/ not 225/

Also have a set of four Dunlop SP WinterSport M2 245/40R18 93V M+S tires with 8/32 of tread left. These look like a better snow tire . However I would have to find a cheap set of 18" wheels and I'm not sure they would fit on the front of the S.

Also have a set of four Continental ContiTouring Contact 225/45R17 91H M+S EcoPlus tires with 8/32 of tread left. However I would have to find a cheap set of 17" wheels and I'm not sure they would fit on the front of the S.

Also have a set of four BF Goodrich Comp T/A AR4 245/50R17 98H M+S tires with 8/32 of tread left. However I would have to find a cheap set of 17" wheels and I'm not sure they would fit on the front of the S.

What do you all think

Think I have too many tires or not enough cars Hate to buy new tires, maybe I should just find a car to fit the tires Ah Shoot no room left in my garage or cash in the bank for another car or set of $600 tires.

I wouldn't put a 245 tire of any aspect ratio on the front. Just too wide. However, any of the 225s X 16" will work. 225 on the front with an aspect ratio of 55 might rub if you hit a big bump. Also, you should take corners on dry ground too fast as the taller sidewall will flex more. If you plan to run the same size front and back, you shouldn't be driving all that fast anyway as a non-staggered configuration will reduce you stability at speed. But to get through the winter, they'll work.
ps. Your speedo reading will be off a bit.

Thanks xviper. Think I'm going to go with the Michelin Pilot XGT H4 94H M+S 225/55R16 tires on the rear . Goodyear RS-A 89H M+S 205/55/16 tires on the front.

Started a thread on the For Sale Form to sell off some of my Tire Collection. So I can make room in the Garage for my S. She wants a warm place too sleep at night so she can play in the winter snow a little this year

Don't know how to link to it. The Tires are listed under ( Garage Tire Sale 16"17"18"20" 8-9/32 ) in the For Sale Forms.

Thanks Again, Derf Refnook
