Default is it possible to lathe a wheel?

hi guys...

i want to drive 17x8 front and 17x9 rear...

but the rears have an offset of 45... and i want to drive the without roling fenders ...

mine is lowerd ...

so my question is - is it possible to lathe the wheel on its fitment point - to get ET60?

for sure - i thought about the durability of the wheel, but i know that there are replicas of the same wheel with more then ET70 ... so i think this should be possible?

regards!

mike!

I would think they could take some metal of the inner mounting surface of the wheel.

Please review this video.

Also, to answer your question... I think they could do it but I'm not sure if you really want to take 15mm off. That seems like a lot to remove. Maybe it's just me though.

I'd say 5mm max, no way to take off 15mm without compromising the wheel. Wheels with high offsets are specifically built that way, it's not like low offset wheels have a thicker mounting pad you can just mill away.
