Default Potenza RE-01R

I'm looking into a performance tire for spirited DD and limited track use. Read the reviews on tire rack and all who had reviewed had found them to be great. Any other experiences? Reccomendations? Also have considered the PS2's. Thanks

I was looking at these tires for a little while. I was going to place them on my OEM 16" AP1 wheels. The problem is, the OEM sized RE-01Rs are "V" rated I believe. Our car calls for "W" rated tires. I didn't get an exact answer on this site to my question of, "Is that a problem?" so I called tirerack and asked them. He told me to stick with "W" rated tires because that is what Honda recommends for my car and that the sidewalls on the S02s (stock W Rated tires) will be somewhat stiffer than on the RE-01Rs in the 16" size. This is what I ultimately wanted (I'm coming from RS2s that have soft sidewalls) so I just ended up buying 4 S02s from tirerack. There are a couple members on this site with experience with the RE-01Rs. Just page through this forum and you'll see a few more RE-01R threads. Good luck

Unfortunately the RE01-R is only a V speed rated tire in this size. I am not sure why but I am having our guys check with Bridgestone as to why only V speed rating. As soon as I can find out something I will post it.
By the way I will tell you the tire does handle really well and it turned over 1G on our skid pad in a test on a stock BMW 325.
If I can help let me know.

Jim I'm looking for a solid spirited DD non-oem tire. It will have limited track use. So a solid spirited DD tire with limited track use. I was thinking something along the lines of a ps2. These will be going on work meister s2r's.
