Thumbs up Tire Recomendations on oem wheels

My tires have reached their end and its time to pick up a new set. I have experianced only S0-2 so i have no idea how other tires perform in the real world. Give me opinions on the tires im considering. My main use of my daily driven s2k is mildly aggressive drving on the street with a weekly trip to the twisties. No track time on these tires. The oem tires are great and i would get them again but i see many options at a smaller cost so i must shop and compare. I would also enjoy a tire that gives a more of a warning at the limit of adhesion.

Bridgstone S0-2
Bridgstone S0-3
Bridgstone RE750
Fuzion ZRi
Khumo Ecsta 712
Yokohama AVS ES100
Yokohama AVS Sports

All are in the correct size 205/55/16 & 245/45/16
Thanks

Try Hankook RS-2's. $350/set from tires.com. Im using them for track and autocross. When I last tracked them I found them to have just as good grip as OEM S02's yet are much more forgiving. ie. No snap oversteer.
The tread looks really good for rain too.

It depends on what you mean by "performance."

From your description of your needs - aggressive street (in dry weather, I hope) - the S02s will out perform the other tires.

The tire compound is the primary factor for adhesion. The tread pattern is not nearly as important, especially on dry roads. If the compound is the same when choosing between two tires, then look at the secondary characteristics to make the selection.

The HK RS2s are a little harder (less grip) at around 200 compound, and the RE 750s are a lot harder - I think around 340. The S02s are a 140 compound. Race tires are 40 - 80.

I think that with stickier tires, when you go beyond the limit of adhesion, the loss of traction is always more severe.

Those numbers you are rating are not compound numbers. They are treadware ratings and they are not transferrable from company to company. A longer treadware rating does not mean it is a harder rubber compound. It can mean they have a lower rolling resistance and they will just last longer because of this.
What we have found is the S02 is the best all out performance tire on the car. You can get better wet traction and longer wear but you will have to give up some handling to improve the other things. I don't think that will be too big of an issue if the car is not tracked. The tire I would recommend is the RE750 from Bridgestone. It will offer better ride quality and wet traction along with longer wear. I have the tires on my own car currently and they have performed well for me.
If I can help let me know.

Don't overlook the Avon Tech M500. Just put them on my car. Have about 3,500 miles on them. They are quiet, do well in the rain, and seem to be wearing pretty well. I have not pushed them hard 'though, that's what my Hoosiers are for.

It is hard to beat the factory SO2s unless you go with an R rated tire like the Toyo RA-1s. I've run both with good results on the street.

I just got S03s on my oem 16" wheels. the dealer gave me 205/55 up front and 225/50 in the rear. Anyone know if these measurements are correct? I'm concerned because of this thread.

i bought the car with S03 225 in the rear and maybe i just need to experience 245 S03 or 225 02 but i love my s03 great traction and im not very nice to my car when i get on twisty roads and they are really good in rain never really had any traction issues or spinning only when its really cold out and i just start her up.

My question is how are Yoko ES100 im thinking about getting them next the specs seem really good and my friend has them on his prelude and he just loves them but ive heard they aren't great on s2k can anyone clear this up for me
