Default Proper front size for RS2's?

Looking to get a set of RS2's for my stock 2002 rims. I know I need 245/45/16 in the rear, but what about the front? Do I stay with the stock 205/55/16 size? I've heard for some tires people recommend 225/50/16 but I've also heard some tires get an ugly bulging look which I really don't want. What are your recommendations?

Do you autox? If not the 205s are fine for you and won't have that "ugly bulge". If you run track days or autox, then you probably want the 225s.

Nope, no autocross. Strictly streets, freeways and twisty canyon roads.

are stock ap2 narrow? coz the best size is 225/45 and 245/40 for 17s and thats 7.5 front and 8 rear.

245/45 is just too tall... so no way you can do a mush more lower profile in the front... even a 225/45 front is just too small if you have 245/45 rear. it rides not as good... ive tried it.

good luck.

I think you are confusing. The OP was asking about front tire size for ap1 stock wheel.

For daily driving, smaller front tires will give you less over-steer.

the stock ap2 front tire is narrow for a 215, so by adding a 225 in the front you are increasing chances of oversteer.

I just got done tracking at buttonwillow and was running this tire on AP1 wheels. I used the 205/55 in the front and the 245/45 in the rear. The car felt fairly balanced and neutral with good predictability during weight transfer during all parts of the turn. I was also wondering how 225/50 would be in the fronts, but am a little concerned about oversteer bias. But i also feel this lower profile in the front my help to decrease some of the sidewall flex the rs-2 has. Does anyone have experience with 225 in the front with 245 in the rear on stock AP1's?
