Default Question about Square Setup

Need some help with selecting tires and size. I'm currently running 225/255 RS3's and need new tires. Now my wheels are 17x9 all around, so I figure now I'll go non staggered. Only reason the tires are is that I bought the wheels after I bought tires. Ok now for my actually question. I really like my RS3's but they've skyrocketed in price since last year so I thought about getting 255 Evo12's until I found a member selling some like RS3's for a really good price, but I'm scared that without a larger FSB the car is going to handle like crap. I read a thread awhile back saying that going 245 all around will reduce the need for a larger FSB. If I get the 255's will it handle horrible without it or will I be fine until I can get one, should I get the 245's (save some money and handle ok)? Last question, will 245 evo's handle worse then my current 225/255 staggered RS3's? My bad if this is full or errors, typing fast trying to get back to work.

If you are happy with the rs3s than you should stick with the rs3. I don't see why you would buy a set of tires to hold you over until you (potentially) get a set of rs3s for a good deal. In the end you waste a lot of money by buying a set of tires you won't be happy with / not fully use. Than, if a good deal pops up buy those too and store them until the new rs3s go out (which is a very short time frame).
As far as the front sway bar is concerned- you need to talk alfredo into getting another saner and maybe he will sell his eibach for a good deal.

After looking at the price of the tires- I think you should just buy the rs3s
From tire rack:
255/40/17 rs3- 155
255/40/17 v12- 123
245/40/17 v12- 113

You will only save 130 by buying the v12 while you wait for a deal on the rs3 (which may never happen).
You will only save 40 by downsizing to a 245 over the 255 v12.

What do you use the car for? What other non-stock suspension items do you have? What alignment?

When you go to a wider front tire with all else the same, you make the car oversteer--which isn't always a bad thing. You can always compensate by disconnecting the rear bar if you are uncomfortable with the way it drives or until you are able to get a stiffer front anti-sway bar.

Is running non staggered wheels with staggered tires ok. The steering feels more "sensitive" the way it is now (225/255 on 17x9s)

If you are daily driving the w/ no track or autox then get the Evo v12s. The merits of RS3s are wasted on a DD. You will be grossly underutilizing a pair of fast wearing tires.

I keep V12s on my DD Civic Si and RS3s on my weekend/track S2k.
