Default Question about Toyo Proxes - Please help

I just got the car and it's winter so I'm running a set of Toyo Garits. I'm thinking of trading in the stock S02s and picking up a set of Toyo Proxes T1-S when summer comes. I've used the Toyos on my prelude as summer tires and loved them. I was wondering if there's any reason these tires won't be a good choice for the s2k? I have to decide about trading in now, so would appreciate help from you knowledgeable folks. I've read posts that suggest that the stock tires are wider (or something) for their size, and provide more contact with road? Can't I just get a little wider toyo to do the same?

mas,

I love the T1-S...it's a great tire. Not as sticky as the S02's...but they are great in the rain, and they will last you alot longer than the S02's. I suspect you will also loose a little time on the launch also (maybe 1/2 a car length to 2/3 a car length).

The stock 225/50/16 S02's last me ~8,000 miles (with occational drag racing), the 245/35/18 T1-S last me ~12,000 miles (with occational drag racing).

The correct size T1-S to get for your car is...205/55/16 and 245/45/16.

Thanks for the size info! This is one of the reasons I like the proxes - they are great in rain! While I cannot really compare them with the S02s cause I just drove a 100 miles on them and the car was still in the break-in period (winter on top of that), the proxes are quite sticky, IMO. Also, they are very predictable at the limit - which I think is very important, considering that this car is tail happy.
