Default Question for offset guru's

I'm thinking about getting wheels that are 8.5" +40 offset for the rear. I did a search and the response sounded like it wouldn't work.

But from the Wheel Fitment Guide it sounds like it would:

We'll assume the owner has had a proper alignment, uses tires recommended for the chosen wheel width, and hasn't modified their fenders.

These are minimum recommended offsets. You can use a higher offset if you want, and you will get additional fender clearance.

For the rear:
7.5

Obviously clearance will be decreased with a drop, you will probably have to roll fenders to fit those with any kind of drop, and you'll still be stuck running narrower than stock tires.

your sacrificing the the width of traction with a 235 tire......you can get a high offset and put more tire to the ground with a 245+ tires....but i guess you could get this setup

You'll have to make so many adjustments to run those. I'd look for some better fitting wheels.
