Default Quick! Help me with the correct tire size..

Wheels:
17x8 et 49
17x9.5 et 55

Tirerack upgrade garage is telling me:

215/45-17 Front
245/40-17 Rear

Local retailer telling me:

225/45/17 Front
255/40/17 Rear

Looking at the sticky up front...it looks like I should run either:
225 or a 215 up front
255 or 265 in the rear

i'm confused!

stock suspension ap2 for now but I do plan on a moderate drop for these PA roads.

TireRack tells you recommended size based on car, not by rim. That's what the OEM run. You can just as easily order those bigger sizes from TireRack.

tire rack gave you OEM sizes and the retailer gave you a bigger size that you can run...i work for America's Tire Co...and we recommend the bigger size because it gives more performance than the OE and from what ive see they cost a little more..i suggest if you run an 8 inch wheel in the front run the 225's..the 215 will stretch the tire and look like a lowrider set up...

thanks guys, sounds like 225/45/17 Front - 255/40/17 Rear is the way to go.

With the 255/40R17 and 55mm offset sometmes they may rub depdending on the specific tire. A little more negative camber or a fender lip roll solves the problem. The 245/40R17 will fit and clear with no problem but they do not look as good on the 9.5 wheel.
If I can help let me know.
