some people run non staggered setups on the track, but they do so on purpose knowing the consequences. I would not recommend it on the street.

wow I didn't know it would make that much of a differance. As I said these would only be summer wheels and I would use my stock ones for autoX events and such. U guys don't even think it would be ok just to drive normally on for 3 months. Also Racer, how were those tires mismatched? Did he have the same size tires in the front as in the rear.

well it depends on how you drive. If you're just putting around, you should have no problem. If you really get on it, the car will have a tenancy to oversteer more, and therefore, will be unpredictable at first.

Of all the variations, the MY00-01 cars have the strongest bias toward oversteer. The tire stagger puts more rubber in the back, and you need every bit of it to get stable handling. In fact, the OEM S02 tires that are used on the rear of the car carry a special part number, and are slightly wider than other tires of the same size. As a result, if you change tire brands, you need to upsize the rear tires to get the same amount of rubber on the ground (and failure to do so results in unstable handling).

If you're going to be autocrossing the car you'll probably be better off getting lighter wheels for autocrossing and using the stock wheels on the street. Check out the Racing and Competition forum for tips on autocross setups.

While you could "putt around" on any size tires, you don't want unstable handling when something unexpected happens.

ASM's car is running non-staggered setup. I felt non-staggered setups run more consistently, i mean the rear comes out faster than staggered but it felt more consistent for me running non-staggered. I feel the rear slide out much smoother, and time after time it would be the same speed and angle where it starts sliding out. I guess it's a preference.

How many ppl at the track or autocross run non-staggered setups?

Red MX is right on the money: the one time that you're in a corner n' you have to get off the gas because of, well, whatever your ass is gonna race your nose to the outside of the corner so fast you'll be sittin' the weeds (hopefully jus' weeds) wonderin' how you got there.
Stay with the stagger. Ma Honda doesn't like it when we stray.
Be well.
