Default RE-71r question

Thinking of buying RE71r's but I've seen they run narrow.

Currently I have 215-45-17 on the front and 245-40-17 on the rears.
What size does this translate to with the thinner RE71r's? What would you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance for your help!

For stock AP2 wheel sizes Front 7" Rear 8.5" or even Front 8" Rear 9" I would stick with the sock AP2 tire sizes Front 215/45/17 and Rear 245/40/17. You could up size to 225/255 if you want more grip but you'll give up some handling feel so I prefer the stock AP2 sizes. If you want to see what a 245/40/17 RE-71r looks like on a 9" wheel check out the post from IwantanS (URL below) I think the pictures will help you decide.

Good Luck and post some pictures once you get them installed.

yeah this is my dilemma as well. i current have this setup

17x7.5 48et 215/45/17 dunlop direzza Z1 star specs
17x9 45et 245/40/17 dunlop direzza z1 star specs

and i also have heard these run narrow like you said. im looking to be about the same size as what i have now, but would that mean going from a 215/245 dunlop to a 225/255 re71? or would you think i would be ok with just going with stock ap2 sizes?

Thanks for the advice -- and I will definitely post pics.
I had read the thread you linked and found it very useful.

I think I'm going to wait until March before I buy...the last few years Bridgestone has done a rebate in March.

I bought mine last week. Discount Tire Direct had a $100 gift card deal on 4. The deal expired Monday.

I need new tires and noticed these were priced fairly well so was looking into them.

I was going to go with a 225/245 setup on my AP2V1's. Should I avoid that and either go smaller on the front or wider in the rear?

Well, I was thinking of doing 225 in the front and 255 in the rear (both up 10 from what I currently run).
