Which stagger is better w/ 255/40/17 rears?
Planning to order my new tires this coming week and would like to know which is a better stagger. I have the AP2 V1 wheels on my AP1 w/ stock suspension and plan on getting 255/40/17 on the rears for sure.
Now, which size is better for the front, 215/45/17 or 225/45/17?
Thanks in advance.
Gabe

The 215/45 size. You really don't need the extra grip up front. Even if you autocross it every now and then, it'll help you learn the limits of the S. This is all IMHO, anyone else is really welcome to put their 2 cents in.

That size is actually what I was leaning towards to. I just wanted the peace of mind that it wasn't a bad choice. Thanks for your input.

The size would depend on which tire you choose. Some tires are actually wider or narrower than others. Like others have said it also depends on what you want out of the tires.
If I can help let me know.

Thanks for all the replies guys... I went ahead and got the 215/255 combo. I chose Kumho SPTs to save a little money but not loose too much of the performance from the OEMs. These should also last a little longer. I did so much research comparing the OEM tires to other sets and found these to be the best bang for the buck. It'll be my first time trying these but it seems to have a pretty good history from most people. I don't plan on tracking, but mostly spirited driving in the weekends so nothing too serious. I'm pretty sure these should hold out for me pretty well. I'll let you all know how it is when I get them mounted by the end of this week.

I just bought 215/255 combo after speaking with Jim on the phone. I got the HTR Z III's. Incredible deal for a tire ranked better than OEM's. I will let you know how "bad" they are.
