I have 500s in my Si and s2k for 2 years now. Definitely suited more for street. They are quiet and decent ride quality. Easier to break loose but it’s very predictable. For the price I’d definitely buy again.

I have the 500's on my s2k and GP1. Both are primarily street driven, but I did a recent track day in the GP1 and it wasn't too bad; held up well for a 20 minute session. They're smooth and quiet on the street, have tons of grip for the onramp and back roads, and don't throw up lots and lots of pebbles like my Michelin PS4S on the M3, which is nice.

I am in a similar position, aggressive street driven car, and I went with RS4s. They were cheaper than Indy 500 and have excellent grip IMO, they are not the ultimate in terms of grip but just below the top tires. They do need a bit of warm up but I've been extremely happy with them. Every time I've tried anything below a 200TW tire I haven't been happy with the results (V12s Evos, Extreme Contacts, HTR Z3) and they dont measure up to even the budget 200TW that I've had in the past (RS3, Z2, V720, Nfera Sur4). The last few years I've always gravitated toward the cheaper 200TW option when I needed tires and I've never been disappointed.

I went from MPSS to RS3s, and then RS4s after. Great tires, and the difference in road manners was negligible. I don't remember noise being an issue, and that's something I'm fairly sensitive to.

Currently running Continental ECS and while I'm happy with them, I'm considering going back to the Hankooks when these wear out.

What's a GP1?

And good to know regarding the pebbles

Another vote for the RT615K+ here. I've put about 6k miles on a set and they've been great so far. Far more grip than you'll ever need on the street, wear fairly well (I've done 2 aggressive road trips up the CA coast and back), and I never really hear them over my exhaust. I also think the 255s look a *little* wide on 17x9s. Would be perfect on 9.5s imo.

Great tire. Will probably buy again.

If i am not mistaken, the GP1 is a limited/performance copy of the Mini cooper.

For me, the Indy500 is more than enough for street use. I put about 20k kms on my 8th gen SI on a set and they never felt lacking in any way even when i was hooning. The biggest reason for my preference is that they do not pick up rocks/pebbles and throw it against your precious paint work. And the ability to "loosen" the car at lower limit is also a plus. For a street only car, i will take the Indy500 over any 200TW all day every day. YMMV.

It was the send off for the R53 generation Mini Cooper. More track focused, less weight, more of a go-cart.

With the PS4S, I ended up getting mud flaps for the front and rear wheels because the stone were wearing away the paint!

I went with the Falken RT615K+

I got them put on like 2 wks ago, but haven't really been able to drive the car.

I love the way they're looking. Will report back on how they're rollin.

Tire cosmetics are important now? That's OK 'cuz I still like how 255 tires look on the back wheels even though I seldom see them.

Let us know after the tire mold lubricant wears off.
