Default rear tire size question

I am wondering about rear tire sizes for my 17x9 65 offset wheels, I have on them now Yokohama avs sports 255/40/17 I just saw they offer a 275/40WR17
Do you think the sidewall will be to large on the 275/40/17's? Does tirerack offer a 275/35/17 tire?

You'd need to go to a 9.5" or 10" rim to fit a 275 tire on it and you'd need more offset to make it fit on the car. A quick search of the TireRack site indicates they have no tires in that size (275/35/17).

I have seen people run 275/40R17 on the car but you would need the wider wheel. It also ends up being a taller tire. To run that size you would also need to raise the height of the front tire or the anti lock brakes will not function correctly.
