Default recommend me a tire please

hey guys,

im gonna be in need of some tires with in the next few thousand miles.
right now im running on stock sized star specs.
we have no track here, but i love their ultimate grip when on mountain runs.
the only thing that i dont like, is that they dont last a very long time.....(about a year)

so my question is,
is there a tire that has somewhat compareable grip to the starspecs
but also has a higher tread wear rating?

thanks

I agree with the DW's - I ran them in autocross as well as street. Great tire. Wet and dry. Just don't track them in the heat, as they don't handle that very well.

They have been pretty good, had them on the track once so far and they did pretty good. I am happy with them and they should last a bit longer than the star specs I had, they were also a bit cheaper since their actual price is lower than the star specs and they come with free road hazard.

thanks guys for all your input. i think i will be going with the continentals.
was looking into the pilot super sports and they sound good. but the price is a bit high for me right now.

i got a few more quick questions.
i have an ap2 and understeer with the stock sized tires.
should i order a 225 front to run with 245 starspecs?(only need to replace front soon)

and is it possible to run our stock rear ap2 v1 wheels in the front?
cause i can pick up a set for cheap and it'd be nice to be able to rotate tires.
and have a bit more front grip.

thanks

You would have to bore them out because the front has a larger centerbore.

I read that you can use a spacer instead of messing with the bore. If I had known that, I probably wouldn't have dropped the money for the TR C3's.
