Redoing Blitz Type 01 Rims
so i bought a set of blitz type 01 rims 3 yrs ago and the original clear coat was badly cracked. i had them recleared by a shop and they underbaked the clear so that it would stick to the smooth lips as good as it possibly can. well it has a 3 yr life expectancy, so its time to have them redone due to cracking/peeling.
i have spoke to several other powdercoating places and they all say the clear won last more then a few yrs because it doesnt stick that well to the smooth metal underneath.
has anyone done anything else to the lips besides clear? maybe a color like light silver or something? and ideas? suggestions? i dont want to have to take these rims apart and reclear them every 3 yrs.
