Default replacing rears (only) : 255 or 245?

i'm currently on 225/45/17 up front and 245/40/17 in the rear. my rears are shot. i originally went with the 245s because they are closer to the OEM revs/mile, and i figured a little less weight is a good thing. measuring the actual contact area of those and OEM tires showed that they match up almost exactly.

i have been extremely pleased with the tires (BFG GForce T/A KD.) they are much more progressive and have a higher total grip level than the stockers, but the car definitely definitely still goes into snap oversteer at low speeds.

y'all think i should go with 255s this time?

The 255/40R17 would stop some of that. You matched the rear with the OE but the 225/45R17 is a lot wider than the narrow OE S02 so you have created more over steer.
If I can help let me know.
Thank you
