I guess my question is, why downgrade from your stock wheels? what's wrong with oem 16s or 17s? They sure are better quality...

How is it a downgrade? The stock wheels are heavy and they're cast. Hardly anything could be a downgrade.

Its a preference for a different style, that's all.

You can say you don't like the look of OEM wheels but it's definately a downgrade consider the quality difference.

What quality difference? The one that everyone throws around on the forum but never can substantiate?

Bet you no rotas can't survive as much as pot holes an Oem can handle.

I can contest that first hand because I had a set of sh$tstream that didn't last 3 months without constantly ordering new replacements.

People don't want their stockies maybe because they curbed them or they want something more colorful?

Don't take it so personally man, unless...you have a set of rotas...

Again, no substantive evidence.

Here, I'll add some more hearsay/non-substantive evidence. Gary Sheehan practiced, qualified, and raced on Rotas exclusively for 2 or 3 years in the US Touring Car Championship. Never had a failure. I'd venture to say that a heavy WRX + Hoosier radials generates a LOT more forces than most wheels will ever see.

^^^True, but Steve is saying that he personally bent a few sh!tstreams from pot holes.

IMHO I would not run rota's just because I would get sick of them very very quick. That and the fact that most of them don't come in correct sizes/offsets for thr S.
Rims mean too much to me I guess.

[QUOTE=Steve@Evolution,Mar 2 2007, 02:05 PM]I don't need to present evidence to you or anyone else because I don't need to convince anyone out from buying rotas so don't get all sensitive with me.

Properly sized rotas are NO different the any other properly sized Cast wheel.

ASA's, Weds etc.
