Rotas are heavier because they are cast. A cast wheel require more material than a forged wheel to achieve similar strength.

That said, 90% of you would never know the difference.

Forged wheels were designed in a way as they are forged. Less materials were used on the spokes and the barriel while maintaining high strength. Companies who copies a forged wheel but use casting method, the strength will be seriously compromised in order to accomplish similar weight.

How about Replica AP2 version 1 rims in 17-18s sizes + higher offset around the 40-60s range. Gives us a lip, wider rims. Plus keeps a nice stock look with a touch of aggressivness.

I personally like my AP2 rims a lot.

^Eggggzactly, take into consideration Cwest aero parts. They spend gobs of money for R&D and wind tunnel testing and then some smuck on eBay copies their kit and sells it for $500.

Obviously if cwest does not gain profit or even break even they will stop spending money to produce quality aero parts. Then who will those rip off companies copy? The way I see it they are hurting product development.

But on the other have they are keeping it competitive so that companies cannot rape us consumers, hmmm.
