Rota D2
Yes the 40 Is the aspect ratio whichs represents how "thick" the sidewall is. it is 40% of the tires width. but the thinner you go the more harsh of a ride you will have. Plus you pay more for a lower profile tire.
Thanks guys. So if I was planning on getting the D2s in 18x8F and 18x9R, you would recommend 215/35/18F and 245/35/18R?
Also, how much would this setup raise the car as a whole? Would it change the wheel gap or just the overall height of the vehicle?

no... dude:
215/40/18 and 245/35/18
40 profile in front!
...and no, 18s will NOT change wheel gap, nor will they change height of the car - the wheel/tire height will be close to the same of your oem 205/55/16 and 225/50/16

I may end up going with the 215/40 245/35 setup in the end just to help save a little bit more weight with my new big heavy wheels. i'm just worried about the rubbing since i'm lowered. i'll mount some 255's on there just to see he there will be a problem.
I'm getting ready to buy some BF Goodrich KDWs 2's, but is there anything wrong with 225's in front and 245's in the rear? Or does not staggering the sizes throw off the handling? I don't know why I want to throw away so much money on the biggest tires. I need to stop myself...
I just looked on tirerack.com and it is cheaper to go with th 255/225 setup. So it looks like that's what I'll be getting. I don't care about saving weight any more. Also, are Muteki lug nuts a good idea?
I was going to buy these rims until i did some more research. What I found after doing more calculations was that the offset of those rims prohibited me from running the correct tire widths/stagger (calculated with tread width percentages between f/r) without rolling the fenders, running excessive neg camber, or not lowering the car. just thought i'd share that before anyone found out the hard way. if you decide to get the rims anyway and only care about looks, that's fine. otherwise, please share your experience with fitting the 225/255 combo...
bump this up. about to order my set but not sure on the tire sizing
a friend of mine is suggesting:
F: 215/40/18
R: 255/35/18
i'm stock height. looking for the best match to the oem wheel/tire height.
