Default Rota Wheels and alternatives.

Hi All,

I currently have some Rota alloys on my S... However through reading on this forum and from some comments made by friends who have Jap cars aparrently they are pretty poor wheels.

So apparently they are heavy - which i have looked into and they are only a few KGs more than the expensive Forged wheels.

Another issue is that they are not as strong? As they are made in less developed parts of asia in 'sweat shop' style factories. Is this really such a major issue?

My concern is that I do not have £3,000 to spend on a new set of wheels for my car.

What alternatves are there to the roata wheels that are affordable? Are there affordable forged wheels around?

Finally i hear Rota are the lowest quality cast wheel and changing to a different cast wheel EG Team Dynamix, would be affordable yet far stronger than the cheaply made Roatas i have on my car...???

I know people have lots of oppinions about Rotas as i have read, please do not have a massive debate! Any Genuine answers to my qestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Enkei and TSW wheels are quality and affordable. I would choose enkei over TSW, just personal preference. Enkei's racing series wheels are still made in Japan and are top notch.

If you already have them, what's the problem? If you were gonna buy a set of rotas, I would say don't. Save your money and when you get tired of them, buy something that is better quality.

You can get brand new CR Kai's in 17x9 for around $1400. A tad higher than RPF1's but still not bad at all.

For everyday normal driving, there is nothing wrong with Rotas. If you like the look and don't mind that they are heavier than, say, Enkei's then it's all good.
